PEF Scholarship Applications Open January 15th, 2024

Piqua Education Foundation (PEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is a separate entity from Piqua City Schools.

Beginning January 15th, 2024, students can apply for PEF scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year using our brand-new online application portal at www.piquaeducationfoundation.org .

The portal allows applicants to create an account then log in any time to apply or check their application status. Applicants can also save their progress and return later if needed.

Applicants are encouraged to add [email protected] to their contacts list and check spam/junk folders to ensure confirmation and other emails are not missed.

Who is eligible to apply?

Piqua High School seniors graduating in 2024 and Piqua High School graduates from the three prior graduating classes (2023, 2022, and 2021) are eligible to apply for the 2024-2025 academic year.

*Students taking a gap year or who have other extenuating circumstances should email [email protected] with details and a request for consideration by the PEF Scholarships Committee.

What information is needed to apply?

Applicants will need their most recent OFFICIAL transcript in .pdf format and their college, university, or trade school student ID number to complete the application.

*Piqua High School seniors may submit an unofficial copy of their PHS transcript.

Students are also encouraged, but not required, to submit their FAFSA Submission Summary if they wish to be considered for need-based funding in addition to standard scholarship funds.

When can I apply?

Applications will be accepted January 15th, 2024 through March 15th, 2024. Applications received after March 15th will not be considered.

When will I find out whether I have been awarded a PEF scholarship?

Applicants will be notified of their status by email on or before April 15th, 2024.

What are the criteria for PEF scholarship awards?

PEF scholarship awards are competitive and are calculated based upon a proprietary algorithm that considers the student’s GPA and other measurable factors to determine eligibility.

Will I receive less scholarship money if I submit FAFSA documentation?

No. Students who submit FAFSA documentation that shows a demonstrated financial need may receive additional funds to supplement their scholarship award, but a student who qualifies for a PEF scholarship based upon our algorithm will not have their scholarship amount lowered based upon information in their FAFSA documentation.

Who can I contact with questions or for technical support?
