Piqua High School Students & Families,


State Tests are starting in a few weeks.  How do you know which State Tests you are taking?  You only test in the subjects listed below that you are currently enrolled in.  This means if the class is on your schedule you are taking that State Test.


Please bring your school-assigned Chromebook with you on each test day.


    Testing dates are as follows:


Tuesday March 26:  English 10 Part I

Wednesday March 27: English 10 Part II


Tuesday April 16: Biology Part I

Wednesday April 17: Biology Part II


Tuesday April 23:  U.S. Studies Part I & Government Part I*

Wednesday April 24: U.S. Studies Part II & Government Part II*

*UVCC Students taking government will take the Government Test at UVCC


Tuesday April 30: Algebra Part I & Geometry Part I

Wednesday May 1: Algebra Part II & Geometry Part II


School staff will continue to remind students about their test date(s).  It is possible that some students will take up to 4 exams, and some students may not take any.


On testing days, students who are not testing will have a 2-hour delay.  Students that are testing will need to be at school at the normal start time on test day(s).  Piqua City Schools bus routes will be on normal route time each day.  Therefore, non-testing students will need to arrange transportation if they choose not to ride the bus to school.  Non-test-taking students who ride the bus to school on test days will be supervised by school staff in the cafeteria until the regular school day begins.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:


ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS day is here! Each student and staff member should have a necklace. Let the games begin! Students will also receive a ticket in their 1st period class. This is to purchase a You Matter wristband today at lunch out at their merchandise trailer. Congratulations to the student kickball team on their win yesterday!


Student drivers! Please make sure  you are not parked out front illegally or in the senior lot this morning.  We have senior citizens coming in for breakfast and would like for them to have an easy way into the building. Underclassmen you do not need to come to the office and tell us if someone is in your spot- we probably already know. Just park somewhere else for the day!

The April Blood Drive is happening April 18th! Please get your signed consents into Mrs. Koenig BY NEXT Tuesday, April 16th to get scheduled! Be sure to start drinking water NOW, bring an ID & eat a good breakfast the morning of! (Run through 4/15)

Seniors please check your google classroom if you have not already filled out the nomination form for prom court.


Prom tickets will go on sale next Monday, April 15, 2024.  The cost is $20.00 each person


Bring your eclipse glasses this week and drop them off in the main office to be used again by kids in Central America!!. (Repeat this week please)


The Music Boosters Scholarship for Vocal and Instrumental is due on Monday.  So far, there haven’t been any applications turned in to Mrs. Rosenkranz.  Applications are posted on Naviance.


Anyone that made the Top 100, please drop off your plaque at the Chamber of Commerce or bring it to Mrs. Schulze. If you are a first time recipient, please stop in the Chamber or call them and let them know how you would like your name to appear on the plaque (run April 11 to April 16th)


FRESHMAN: We have LESS THAN TWO WEEKS remaining to sell as many Little Caesars pizza/cookie kits as possible!! As of today, only 8/256 people in your class have sold kits. LET’S GO!! See Mrs. Fed with any questions. 


Due to the senior citizens breakfast, men’s and women’s chorus report to the back of the CPA. Junior/Senior singer dancers are to be released at 7:45, freshman/sophomore singer dancers are to be released at 8:45.

Also, anyone interested in running cross country should meet in room 500 Today during advisory.
 
AP Biology students next year meet with Mrs. Bensman during Advisory today room 317, if you cannot attend,   please see her sometime today.
   
Student Council officers and members for next year will have a meeting in Room 106 during Advisory on Wednesday.

 If you are interested in playing either Rocket League or Super Smash Brothers Ultimate for Piqua's new esports team next school year, you must attend an informational session on Wednesday, May 25 during advisory. Please see Ms. Brady in room 103 for more information if you cannot attend. 

 Attention all girls interested in playing tennis this coming fall. There will be an informational meeting today at 1:30 in the CPA. We will make an announcement for you to come down and meet the new coach and get information about this upcoming season schedule and summer workout plan.
 
 All student athletes that participated in spring sports are asked to attend tonight’s spring sports awards night at 6 PM in the CPA.
 
There will be a meeting for all boys interested in playing golf next year in the Commons Today after school.
