Our Mission & Vision
The mission of the Piqua Technology Department is to ensure technology serves as an embedded, powerful tool for knowledge acquisition, communication, and instruction. We accept the responsibility to prepare all students to be ethical, responsible digital citizens who are not only capable of using current technology but are ready to adapt to the innovations of tomorrow.
Every technology decision we make is weighed against its impact district-wide—ensuring our students, teachers, and administrators have the exact resources they need to succeed.
Driving Education Through Collaboration
Technology is no longer optional; it is a vital necessity that enriches the learning process and enhances classroom instruction in ways traditional materials cannot. To achieve this, our collaboration with the Curriculum Department is unique and crucial. By actively embedding ourselves in the educational process, we bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and classroom learning.
The Team Behind the Technology
This mission is made possible by a dedicated, passion-driven technology team that provides direct support to every building and every grade level across the district. As a department, we take immense pride in managing as much of Piqua’s technology environment our selves. We are a hands-on team: if it needs to be done, we do it ourselves—and if we don't know how, we learn. From pulling network cabling and mounting interactive classroom technology to configuring switches, provisioning servers, and deploying thousands of Chromebooks, laptops, ipads and desktops, our team does the heavy lifting. By handling hardware deployment and repairs in-house, we maximize efficiency and save the district thousands of dollars each year.
Supported by Our Community
None of this would be possible without our critical stakeholders. We are profoundly grateful for the parents and public whose financial support funds our schools and equips our classrooms. That community investment, combined with the outstanding backing of our District Administration, allows our team to step up every day, work side-by-side with every department, and deliver a superior level of service that truly makes a difference in the education of Piqua’s students.
