My name is Heather Brandt and I am the 5th grade Title 1 Reading Teacher. This is my 26th year of teaching. I started my career as a special education teacher for students with multiple disabilities at the high school level, as well as being an Option IV Coordinator working with community businesses to secure successful employment for these students. I have been teaching at Piqua City Schools as an intervention specialist and now as a Title 1 Reading teacher, for 19 years.
When I was younger, I grew up on the East Coast, moving every few years, with my father’s military career. My education degrees came from Wright State University, Urbana University, and Bowling Green State University for my bachelors, masters, and reading endorsement. Currently, I reside in Piqua with my husband, Tom, of 25 years. I have two children, Jared, 23, who lives in Florida, and Grace, 20, who is a student at Miami University.
My hobbies include baking, cooking, reading, and playing with our dog ViVi, as well as visiting my family in North Carolina.
