Piqua – The Piqua show choir, The Company, earns their third Grand Champion title. Having already
secured grand champion status at the Ada Music Feast and the Beavercreek Classic, The Company has
now brought home the same honor this weekend from the Findlay Fest competition. The fifty-four
singer/dancers, eighteen instrumental combo, and twelve stage crew members threw everything at the
judges – including the ‘kitchen sink’ (yes, at one point there is a kitchen sink that appears in the show).
The Company’s show this year is packed full of fun surprises that will entertain you. The second song,
‘You won’t Succeed in Show Choir’ is a play on the clever Broadway song, ‘You won’t Succeed on
Broadway.’ A true fan favorite, this song is full of humor, props and dancing that are sure to entertain
you. Another shining moment in the show is during the transition song featuring the award-winning
instrumental combo, Audio Hype, as they play a Michael Jackson medley with members of the show
choir joining them on instruments.
Along with being named Grand Champions, The Company earned the People’s Choice Award, Best Show
Concept, Best Instrumental Combo, Best Vocals, and placed First in the large mixed division. The
Dynamic Performer was awarded to Logan Tucker. Director Tom Westfall stated, “The success we are
seeing is the direct result of hard work and dedication. This group of young people never fail to amaze
and impress me! I want to thank the students, staff, parents and community for their continued love
and support!”
The Company will compete in two additional competitions this year. Their next competition will be at
Hurricane, West Virginia on February 4 th . Their final performance of the year will be at the ‘Just Us’
concert at the Piqua High School on May 20, 2023. A number of these talented students will also be
performing in this year’s high school musical, ‘Mamma Mia!’ on March 24-25. Tickets will go fast and
