Pennies for Patients Campaign
November 28th through December 16th, Washington students participated in Pennies for Patients, a program which raises money to find cures for blood cancers. Through this campaign, students learn about service, leadership, and philanthropy. An ambitious goal was set - collect $3,000.00! During the three-week campaign, a spirit week and a goody raffle were planned to help generate money towards this worthy cause. The money collected exceeded all expectations - $3,166.11 A celebratory assembly was planned for Monday, December 19th and staff members (Mrs. Arp Ms. Gearhardt, Ms. Green, Mrs. Pence, and Ms. Sarver) agreed to take pies in the face. A big thank goes out to Washington’s students and their families ~ without the support of the students and their families, none of this would have been possible!
