Academy of Science “Believe In Ohio” Program

Piqua, OH
Piqua High School Science Teacher Amy Myers was named as a participant in the Ohio Academy of Science Believe in Ohio Program. This program encourages students to pursue STEM and business fields to foster innovation and economic growth in the State of Ohio. The program was created in response to the global market our students will be competing in.

Students will identify a problem, a product, or business opportunity needed in society. A research project and report will be submitted to be judged at the high school, regional, and state levels.

Six Piqua High School students are participating in the program: Tarisai Chinoda, Jasmine Larsen, Whitney Biddle, Reynna Lavey, Andy Mayse, and Steven Cayton. The top project at PHS will be awarded $500. Additional scholarships are awarded as the students advance through this competition.

Mrs. Myers feels “this program has encouraged students to think creatively and realize that their ideas are worth pursuing. I am excited to see the finished products.”
