“Across the district, you may notice our school buildings participating in 'Start With Hello Week.' North Canton City Schools has partnered with an organization called Sandy Hook Promise to help raise
awareness about social isolation. We all can make a difference in small, but
powerful ways to promote connectedness and inclusion, and help identify others
who are showing signs of social isolation.
Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely or treated like you are invisible. Young people who feel this way may pull away from society, struggle with learning and social development, or choose to hurt themselves or others. Over the next week, please watch your building’s announcements for daily facts and themes that students and staff can participate in to promote Start With Hello Week. On Wednesday, September 26th,, we encourage all staff and students to wear green to show support to all, and start their week with ‘hello!’”
